CIE ; Application CIE
Have successfully completed at least 15 undergraduate or 9 graduate credit hours at the College of Charleston at the time of application; •Have a 2.5 minimum GPA (3.2 minimum GPA for graduate students) at time of application; •Submit a personal statement (2-pages, doubled-spaced); •Have two current faculty members submit a recommendation for you through this link (also found on our website).

I wanted to let you know about our School of Business scholarships in case it may encourage more of your FREN 380 students to participate in your French Internship Abroad program this summer. To qualify for the scholarship, they must be declared business majors or minors and have taken at least one 300-level business course.
We have increased the summer study abroad scholarships from $1,200 to $2,000. Please tell students to apply sooner than later to faculty-led programs as the scholarships will be limited. I’ll be sending out an email tomorrow to all SB students. Please encourage students to apply for the scholarship only AFTER they have applied to the study abroad program and know that they will be attending. The deadline is March 1st.

Chaque semaine nous faisons un rapport hebdomadaire, soit oralement soit par écrit pour ceux qui ne peuvent pas venir. Lors de notre entretien hebdomadaire, je souhaite vérifier que tout va bien dans votre famille et dans l’entreprise pour laquelle vous travaillez. Donc nous parlons de :
1) Votre projet (votre progression vers votre but)
2) Votre famille (comment communiquez-vous, y-a-t-il des incompréhensions, que remarquez-vous ?)
3) Votre placement (tout se passe bien, est-ce que vous apprenez des choses, avez-vous des responsabilité, comment se passent vos relations, vous faites-vous des amis)
4) Votre vie de tous les jours (êtes-vous inscrits à un groupe, club de sport …, avez-vous rencontré des gens, avez-vous des amis)
5) lorsque vous quittez Paris vous devez m’envoyer un texto pour me donner les infos, si vous ne dormez pas dans votre famille, vous devez m’envoyer l’adresse. Lorque vous quittez le pays vous devez m’envoyer les infos de transport et de logement ainsi que les infos des gens avec lesquels vous êtes) Merci (c’est juste en cas de problème) – voir les règles.

1) en français, une minute, parlez de votre expérience, qu’avez-vous appris, fait, préféré (en solo) chaque étudiant doit rendre une vidéo en français.
2) en anglais, une minute, pourquoi est-ce une bonne expérience? parlez de ce que vous avez fait, de ce que nous avons fait en groupe, de votre famille de vos nouveaux amis. Vous pouvez la faire en groupe.

Tansportation and Documents
- We will get a Navigo (5 zones) http://www.navigo.fr/
- I advise you to get the Carte Jeune if you want to go around France. Train is always the best solution, 1) because you enjoy the scenery, 2) because it goes from town to town (no need of shuttle/long security line etc.) 3) because it is less expensive and fun.
- I have ordered International Students Card (erach of you will have one).
You need to do

- Please send me your flight ticket so that I can work with Paris’ office and also so that I can be ready for you when you arrive (just send me a copy of your phone screen)
I will be in Paris starting May the 5th.
If you want to travel around, I recommend that you take one more week after the internship to go to Barcelona, London or wherenot.
Those who are unsure of their return, please by an open-end ticket (it is usually less expensive than to change the ticket with penalties and all).
Information
- The orientation is mandatory for the reasons I explained. IES orientation has to be Tuesday the 16th. I have sent an email to request that IES training happens in the afternoon to accommodate those who will arrive the 16th.
- We talked about what is mandatory and what is not. IES training and orientation is mandatory. Meeting with me every Friday is mandatory, some visits will be others will not, Friday’s diners with me are mandatory. Telling me when you are travelling outside of Paris is mandatory.
- When you leave Paris, you need to inform me. When you miss work, you need to inform me. You need to give me your “feuille de presence” every Friday.
I am fine with you traveling around the country (or outside the country), you just have to tell me. I did explained the security and insurance purpose of this communication.
- As soon as everybody is on our secret group we will start voting.
